Rhythmic Landscapes
Create calm, rhythmic landscapes using just one simple mark.
In this final class of the "The Art of Doing Less" series, we’ll explore art making as a slow, meditative practice focused on repetition and rhythm.
Using only short vertical strokes that gently undulate across the page, you’ll build a landscape-inspired abstraction.
We’ll focus on how subtle variation creates interest:
- Shift color gradually across the page
- Adjust stroke width and length
- Play with spacing between bands
- Create movement through gentle horizontal flow
This class is as much about being present as it is about discovering how powerful “less” can be.
All you need is paper, paints or pencils, a small brush, and a willingness to slow down.
Let’s simplify, relax, and paint mindfully.
