Abstract Botanicals – Exploring Negative Space Painting
In this playful, hands-on class, you’ll create a unique abstract botanical artwork while exploring the magic of negative space. We’ll start by building a colorful, textured background using your favorite paints and tools – brushes, stencils, or even bubble wrap and forks!
Next, we’ll sketch simple, abstracted flower and leaf shapes. Using white or black paint, we’ll make them appear by defining the space around them. It’s a fun approach that shifts how you see shape and composition.
Materials needed:
Paint (any type), brushes, a drawing tool, and any surface you like (paper, canvas, old book pages).
You’ll get the full materials list right after checkout.
This class is for all levels.
